Niel Truyens is an energetic commercial leader at the intersection of aerospace innovation and strategic execution. After earning an Aerospace Engineering degree from Delft University of Technology, Niel spent a decade at TNO pioneering the Dutch Laser Satellite Communication ecosystem, scaling it into a major international market activity.
Now at Airbus Netherlands, Niel serves as Business Director for Optical Communication. His focus has evolved from R&D business development to market maturation—ensuring advanced technologies reach end-users. He is currently spearheading the deployment of multi-domain connectivity designed to optically link military ships, aircraft, and land vehicles.
By working in close synergy with the Airbus core team and the Dutch high-tech ecosystem, Niel bridges the gap between local innovation and global demand to drive commercial success.
