Sandor Gaastra is Secretary-General of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. In this role, he leads the civil service of the ministry and works on strengthening the Netherlands’ innovative, sustainable and internationally competitive economy, including key sectors such as technology and space.

Gaastra has held senior leadership roles across the Dutch government for more than a decade. He previously served as Director-General for Climate and Energy and for Energy, Telecom and Competition at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and earlier as Director-General of Police at the Ministry of Security and Justice.
