Laurens is senior program manager at the Electronic Warfare department at TNO, responsible for high-TRL ESM, EW and ELINT systems and programs for the NLD MoD.
He received his PhD in 1995 from Delft University of Technology for his work on synthetic aperture radar processing at TNO, after which he further specialized in real-time systems for radar and electronic warfare. During the time at TNO he founded a spin-off company for the development and marketing of broadband ELINT systems for the international defense & security market.
After the acquisition by a Netherlands satellite SME he managed the engineering team and was responsible for development of satellite test systems and flight instrument electronics for the international space industry and space agencies.
Before rejoining TNO in 2024 he was an independent consultant for 10 years in the field of tech innovations and productizing and product development management.
