Marieke Leegwater is the focal point for the Solidaridad Global Palm Oil Program, that supports farmers and buyers with the production and trade of inclusive and sustainable oil palm production and trade across all major palm oil producing regions. Within Solidaridad she is also the focal point on the EU anti Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

Marieke has extensive experience in the palm oil value chain. Before Marieke joined Solidaridad, she worked for the Dutch Product Board for Margarine, Fats and Oils (MVO), where set up of the Dutch Task Force Sustainable Palm Oil. Marieke holds a master degree in Public Law.

Marieke is co-chair of the RSPO Standing Committee Smallholders and member of the RSPO Complaints Panel.
