Giancarlo Granero started working at the European Commission in 2001. An engineer by training, he covered various roles in the Commission department in charge of entrepreneurship, industry and SMEs. He was part of the team launching the Earth observation programme Copernicus. Today he is in charge of the Space Economy in the Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space.
